Welcome to the Kern County Republican Party (“KCRP”) Website. The KCRP is the Republican Party operating in Kern County, California with its county seat in Bakersfield. The KCRP has more than 137,000 members which presently makes up more than 48% of the total number of voters in Kern County. The KCRP is governed by an elected Central Committee organized by Supervisorial District.
While the KCRP is comprised of a diverse group of people from all walks of life, faiths, ethnic groups, and economic circumstances, it nevertheless operates on some universal beliefs including the following:
Republicans believe that each person is responsible for their own place in our society.
Republicans believe in equal access to a quality education for all citizens, which ultimately will improve the lives of everyone by opening the door to greater opportunity.
Republicans believe that government should be limited to doing for people those things which they cannot do for themselves.
Republicans believe that governmental power and resources should be kept close to the people through their state and community leaders, rather than centralized in a distant big government.
Republicans believe in lower taxes that allow hardworking people to keep more of the money they earn so that they can better provide for their families and invest in their future.
Republicans believe that peace and freedom can be protected only if America maintains a strong military and a diligent and responsive homeland defense.
Republicans believe in the competitive free-enterprise system where individuals must be free to use their own talents and initiative to pursue economic success.
Republicans believe that the solution to America’s problems lies in personal liberty, individual opportunity and in the greatness of the American people.
