Joy Stewart
Republican of the Week



         Joy Stewart currently serves as the Kern County Chair of the Victory 2006 Campaign and she is a true Republican Leader. Joy’s Republican resume is extensive. In 1984 Joy joined the Bakersfield Republican Women Federated and over the years she held numerous leadership positions in the local and statewide organization culminating in her service from 2001 to 2003 as President of the California Federation of Republican Women, the largest Republican volunteer organization. 

        Joy has served in numerous local and statewide leadership capacities including Chair of the Kern County Bush Cheney 04 Campaign, Co-Chair of the California Republican Party Volunteer Organization Committee from 2003 to the present, Central California Co-Chair of the Simon for Governor 2002 Campaign, Area 12 Chair of the 2000 California Bush/Cheney Campaign for both primary and general elections,
Chair of the Kern County Republican Headquarters for the 2000 election, and she continues to serve as an elected member of the Kern County Republican Central Committee. 

        Joy was recognized as the Kern County Republican of the Year for 2005. In her "spare time" Joy serves as the President and Chief Financial Officer of the family owned businesses which includes Stewart Rentals, Basque Café Restaurant and the Tejon Club. Joy is a true inspiration to volunteers here at home and throughout the state and it is our privilege to honor her as a Kern County Republican of the Week.
