Karen DeWalt is the
Republican of the Week

        If you want to have fun at a Republican event here in Kern County then you need to seek out Karen DeWalt; she is always the life of the Party. Most people know Karen because she has been on the Bakersfield City School Board for the past 12 years. They may also know Ms. DeWalt because she has been an elected member of the Kern County Republican Central Committee since 1994 and served as Chairman of the Party in 2003-2004. 

        What many people may not know is that despite her high profile positions, Karen is a dedicated worker behind the scenes as well. Many projects would simply not be completed with out her "roll up her sleeves" attitude. From helping with decorations to knocking on doors, Karen DeWalt is a dedicated volunteer for the GOP!

        In addition to her work for the Republican Party locally, Karen has been a Delegate at the last two California Republican Party conventions.  She is on the Board of the Bakersfield Music Theater and was recently appointed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to the 15th District Fair Board (the Great Kern County Fair). If you ever go to a CSUB basketball game you will know doubt see Karen who is a rabid fan of the blue and gold. Go Runners!
