Roderick Patterson is the
Republican of the Week

Roderick Patterson may be a fairly new Republican in town, a 2001 transplant from the beaches of Ventura California, but he has not let the stop him from being one of the hardest working Republican volunteers for the Kern County Republican Party. Roderick first got involved with Republican politics in Kern County by joining B. R. I. C. K. (Black Republicans In the County of Kern) and he is currently serving as special events coordinator. Word on the street is that he is a front runner to become the next B. R. I. C. K Chairman. This dedicated professional is used to coming in first. Roderick is a former 1st round draft pick of the Cincinnati Reds and was a member of the Oakland A’s and Milwaukee Brewers professional baseball teams, Roderick currently works with local young baseball players to help develop their skills.

Roderick is a graduate of Pepperdine University and holds a masters of business degree.  In addition to his other volunteer work, Roderick works with the Virtual Business program in Bakersfield, helping high school students become America’s next business leaders. Currently Roderick is a Financial Advisor with the Principal Financial Group, "the 401(k) leader in the nation". Roderick’s areas of expertise are retirement, asset protection and tax planning along with business and estate planning.

Roderick believes that the key to success in any field is hard work and he has put this belief into practice in his volunteer work for the Party. Roderick has spent long hours at the Campaign Headquarters making phone calls and doing what ever is necessary to ensure a successful campaign season for Republicans. Because of his tremendous efforts on behalf of the GOP we are proud to acknowledge Roderick Patterson as the Republican of the Week.
